The name of this dolmen means "flat stones" - as seen here! This dolmen is well worth having a torch ready, since it has some quite intricate carvings on the stones in the passageway. Plus you don't hit your head so much on the irregular roof, a combination of Neolithic imprecision coupled with some 20th century archaeological brutalism in the reconstruction of the site using the odd concrete beam...
October 2021 update
The inside of Pierres Plats now appears to be out of bounds to forestall further erosion.
The carving in the left hand picture was the inspiration for the cartoon character "Neo" used at Carnac museum to deliver a narrative for children.
