Tthis dates from about 5th century. It was originally in pieces built into a field wall. The ogham script on the left hand side reads IRATADDOARENS, which may be a reference to a local saint St Ethernanus. Next to the stone there was a stone circle which was destroyed, now the outline is marked in the grass. This is in the middle of a housing estate and difficult to locate among the myriad of cul-de-sacs and speed humps. You're best taking the B9001 main road out of Inverurie from the town hall, and at the roundabout where the B9001 turns right to go over the railway line carry turn left, and you will find the stone signposted. It isn't signposted coming the other way down that road.
