This circle seems to be a complex of two concentric circles. According to the Historic Scotland site board, it was constructed in three phases. The first was a wooden ring of posts in a shallow ditch, from about 3000 BC. The second phase replaced the posts with the inner ring of 8 stones in an oval, with a stony kerb. To the south-west is a cupmarked stone. In the last phase a ring of nine stones was assembled outside the first ring, and there is some indication the key alignment fo the site was shifted from cup-marked stone in the south-west, to the south-east.
