The Burren in Ireland is made of limestone, and this naturally fissures into thin slabs which are ideal dolmen material. The Burren itself rich in megalithic sites, including wedge-tombs (dolmens). Poulnabrone is probably the best-known, with a steady stream of tour buses bringing sightseers in droves. It is testimony to the limestones that visitors, inspired by the megalithic form, have constructed mini-dolmens a few inches high all around the site from loose rock!
